Mothball the Ramroads


So what do we have today? No follow through in spite of Wall Street. The chartists are proven wrong once more. Apa macam, tuan?

So,mothball the ramrods. Market is fickle again. Fund managers have lost their bola and so no follow through. A typical example of no money, no guts, no balls! Meanwhile the retailers are paring down prices on favourite counters, pulling such stocks a couple of shades down from the opening bell.

Not promising lah. CI has gone into red territory. At noon close, CI lost 4.85 points to 1379.87 with gainers being trounced by losers 355 to 507. Volume was alright at 685 million and value of stocks traded came to RM 904 million. Gainers included LCL, Boustead and UMW while losers were Zecon, WCT, Resorts and Green Packet.

Portfolio stocks also went lower. BJ. Toto lost 5 sen to RM5.10;Resorts; 10 sen to RM3.92 while KPS lost 3 sen to RM1.74. RCE and Metronic were at their overnight levels of RM1.05 and 24.5. Howver, AMDB added 0.5 sen to 40.5 sen. Genting was off 5 sen at RM8.50 while WMC slumped 7 sen to RM1.53.

The afternoon trading session-CI went even lower to 1377.35, losing 7.4 points. Volume traded-very thin at 116 million shares worth 1.7 billion. There were 576 losers compared to 305 gainers.

Portfolio stocks: Only three bright sparks-BJ Toto added 5 sen to RM5.20, and both Metronics and AMDB added 0.5 sen each to 25 sen and 40.5 sen respectively. JAKS was unchanged at 79 sen while KPS dropped 4 sen to RM1.73. Meanwhile Gentings lost 5 sen to RM8.50 and Resorts gave up 6 sen to RM3.96. Resorts looks good to move up. Many brokers are giving it fair value at RM4.50-RM4.60. Welli lost 8 sen to RM1.53 while RCE lost 2 sen to RM1.04
